John Matthew has come a long way since he was found living among humans, his vampire nature unknown to himself and to those around him. After he was taken in by the Brotherhood, no one could guess what his true history was- or his true identity. Indeed, the fallen Brother Darius has returned, but with a different face and a very different destiny. As a vicious personal vendetta takes John into the heart of the war, he will need to call up on both who he is now and who he once was in order to face off against evil incarnate.
Xhex, a symphath assassin, has long steeled herself against the attraction between her and John Matthew. Having already lost one lover to madness, she will not allow the male of worth to fall prey to the darkness of her twisted life. When fate intervenes, however, the two discover that love, like destiny, is inevitable between soul mates.
Reading his emotions, she shook her head. “You’re not half the male you could be because of what was done to you. You’re twice what anyone else is because you survived.”
I was very excited for LOVER MINE because it features John Matthew and he has been a storyline I have been following from the beginning that I have loved and craved more for. I have loved John Matthew's journey and his strength. I did like LOVER MINE but I wasn't in love with it one hundred percent. The beginning was dreadfully slow and it really didn't pick up for me until Xhex was found.
As he sat up and looked at her, she smiled. “Jesus, the expression on your face. What? You didn’t think I’d want to be your shellan?” Not in a million years.
It somewhat went back and forth between the slowness. But it was really a beautiful story for John Matthew and Xhex. To be honest, before LOVER MINE I was not crazy for Xhex, didn't care much for her too much, it seemed strange that she was John Matthew's mate, but after reading LOVER MINE it makes perfect sense for them to be together. There were so many "to die for" moments that made my heart stop and I have begun falling for John Matthew all over again!
“Say the word, Qhuinn. Do it and I’ll spend the night with you. We’ll go out with Xhex and John and when they’re through, we’ll come back here. Say it.”
I have also been following the Qhuinn and Blay storyline from the beginning as well! And I'm ready for this nonsense of them not being together to end! Like now! I love them! I enjoyed the Saxton and Blay storyline as well too, but I just want QHUAY now! I have only have to go through two more books to endure this BULLSHIT and then QHUAY"S BOOK! SQWEEEEEEEE!
I wasnt much of a fan of this one after reading it either. To me out was more disappointing than anything and I felt there was a lot of unnecessary drama going on. Section and Blast are cute together, but when you know Blay and Qhuinn can be great together, it just seems useless having someone else in the picture. But I’m glad Blay wasn’t going to sit back and watch Qhuinn fuck his way through Caldwell, hope you enjoy their story to the end (:
ReplyDeleteAnd I can’t wait to see what you think of Tohr’s story, I actually really liked that one though I’m not a fan of Autumn tbh, only because it’s Tohr lol.
I loved JM’s side story though the other books, but his actual book. UGH. I needed better. But I just love him as a character!
ReplyDeleteYah. Ward just keeps dragging Qhuay out and I hate that! Thank god, just one more book and I can read them. I’ve been holding off Tohr’s book, b/c I am so nervous to read it. Hopefully I’ll end up liking that one! =)
