GAH! I also gave it three starts, but I think I was just being generous at the time. :DStraylightshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05794262662099284310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2356418929519712506.post-26574750153872741172011-11-26T18:17:28.027-06:002011-11-26T18:17:28.027-06:00Night Pleasures was one of the first paranormals I...Night Pleasures was one of the first paranormals I ever read and I had a really good time with it. However, that was roughly ten years ago and it was one of the first books in this genre that I ever read. I am sorry that it did not go so well for you. But that's part of the power of books -- they connect (or don't) to something within us and that is what makes them come alive.

As for Acheron, that is one hell of a read and it is very moving. It's an incredibly long book and not for the faint of heart -- especially if you've followed the series and seen how totally wonderful that Ash is. I agree that it is highly recommend, but (yet again) not for the faint of heart.

Anyway, good review and happy reading. I hope the next book you read is one you love! It was too cheesy (in a soap-opera kind of way) and the romance in it so cliche! Gah! I gave it 3 stars though - there were parts of it that I actually enjoyed (like the humor, the mythology, the side characters)... I would have probably enjoyed it more a few years (and a few fantastic series) ago. (like, say, before I got to read Larissa Ione's awesomeness).

I think it gets better though... Read Acheron - that one was the only one that I actually LOVED. It's like it's written by a different author. Really good and intense and a serious tear jerker! And there's no need to read the previous books in the series. ;)Deeahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04020398462121714932noreply@blogger.com
