Vamps in Chicago!

You’d think headlines like that would have provoked the fine citizens of the Windy City to take up arms against us bloodsucking fiends. Instead, ten months later, we’re enjoying a celebrity status reserved for the Hollywood elite—fending off paparazzi only slightly less dangerous than cross and stake-wielding slayers. Don’t get me wrong, Joe Public isn’t exactly thrilled to be living side-by-side with the undead, but at least they haven’t stormed the castle yet.

But all that will change once they learn about the Raves—mass feeding parties where vampires round up humans like cattle and drink themselves silly. Most civilized vampires frown on this behavior, putting mere mortals at ease with their policy of asking a person’s consent before taking a big gulp of the red stuff. However, that doesn’t make good copy for a first time reporter looking to impress his high society family.

So now my “master,” the centuries old, yet gorgeously well-preserved Ethan Sullivan, wants me to reconnect with my own upper class family and act as liaison between humans and vampires—and keep the more unsavory aspects of our existence out of the media. But someone doesn’t want people and vamps to play nicey-nice—someone with an ancient grudge.

Last time we seen Merit she was named Sentinel of Cadogan House, a job where she has the responsibility to protect the vampires of Cadogan House and the sexy master of the House, Ethan Sullivan. Did I mention that she also will be living close to him too, which entails hot tension between the two of them that Merit chooses to ignore. In FRIDAY NIGHT BITES, Merit gets thrown back into the high society life that she hated so much when she was human.

She is a vampire now, a Cadogan vampire now and must do what Ethan needs her to do, she has connections to her father(her old life) and now she must use them. Merit is also dealing with some problems concerning her vampire that will be hard on her. Should she tell Ethan? This series just keeps on getting better and better. The Chicagoland Vampire Series is definitely a keeper. Add it to your vampire collection immediately!

Merit is the same as ever, feisty and strong and we get to learn some cute little secrets concerning her obsession with food(its a good thing that being a vampire, you cannot gain weight…hehe) I think Merit is funny and i I had the chance I would love to spend the day with her, I bet we would be great friends. Ethan is a god. There is more sexual tension between Merit and Ethan than in Some Girls Bite and it drives me crazy. I want more of them.

Ethan has a kind side to him but he has been a vampire for over 350+ years and has never known love before. Is being a vampire only about the sexy aspects? or could there be more? I think that Merit will be able to show him what it is like to be needed and cared for and everything love is about before we get to the final book. We get to learn more about Ethan’s past which I have been craving for.

We have Morgan, which I loved seeing the charming side of them. He tries so hard and is really taken with Merit. They would be a great couple, if Ethan did not exist, but then again i Ethan didn’t exist neither would Merit, that vampire would’ve killed her and she would not be a vampire. We get to see some more possible betrayals and bad guys. New characters. What real friendship i, and the truth to what happened to Merit the night she was attacked concerning her vampire self. I really don’t know which book in the series I like the best, they were both so good. I am really looking forward to Twice Bitten

I felt like this book was of course amazing and will definitely be continuing the series. I’m really interested to see where Chloe Neill takes this series and what will happen. I really love the concept the Vampire Houses and the guards. I think different vampire stories like this and hope I find more of them. Again, you need to put the Chicagoland Vampires Series on your must-read list, you will not be disappointed.
