You can run from the grave, but you can't hide . . .

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She's still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerous ex, taught her, but when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind. Being around him awakens all her emotions, from the adrenaline kick of slaying vamps side by side to the reckless passion that consumed them. But a price on her head—wanted: dead or half-alive—means her survival depends on teaming up with Bones. And no matter how hard she tries to keep things professional between them, she'll find that desire lasts forever . . . and that Bones won't let her get away again.

I thought Halfway to the Grave was amazing but ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE blow me away times 100. I heard that Bones would not be in the book for hald of the book, so I thought oh, no it's not going to be that good, but boy was I wrong. Every page was just great and Bone's absence did not make the book any less than if it was if he was in every entire scene in the book. These Night Huntress books are just addictive as hell, I just can't put them down.

In Halfway in the Grave we left of with Cat leaving Bones behind where and she has been pining for him for 5 years and she is not doing a really good job. She convinces herself that it is the right thing to do to protect everyone that she loves. Cat is soon reunited with Bones and there is a heavy bounty on her head. Cat is forced to trust Bones and work with him to find out who has put this bounty on her head. Is Bones still mad at Cat for leaving him? Will Cat be able to control herself around Bones? Will they talk things through like adults? Read it and find out!

I missed Cat and enjoyed her even more in ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE. Leaving Bones proved this woman to be a strong and I don't know if I would be able to do what she has done or even go through what she has. This proves that she is not weak. I love Cat's determination to protect the people that she loves. I find Cat more tougher in this book and she has grown so much as a character. And Bones, god. I missed him. I think that Jeaniene wrote every scene perfectly and you reunion between the Cat and Bones is just too perfect. Bones is the same as ever and I really missed him in the first half of the book and he is so sweet, even more so than in Halfway in the Grave. You will not be disappointed.

"Why did he have to be so gorgeous? Why did he have to stand so close, and why did I still love him so much?"

We have many new characters, some that we just met from the ending in Halfway to the Grave. Cat is now a federal agent and trains soldiers to kill vampires. Don is her boss, I think he is a great man that has a big secret. We have Tate who is the first soldier that Cat has trained and I believe is like the second to Cat. I have a place in my heart for Tate. We have Juan who is the funny guy who is always trying to get a piece of Cat's ass. Haha.

We also have some new vampires. Ian, who is Bone's maker, I love him, he is like any vampire is, but not really evil in my opnion, but quite a funny guy, who likes rare treasures like Cat. We also have Mencheres, Bone's Grandsire and Ian's Maker. I love him. Mencheres is ancient and god, I don't even know how old, but very very very old, you notice iI use the world ancient, okay so ancient time 100. He is still a bit of a mystery to me but he has a gift that may at times become useful in the vampire world. I feel that I need to learn more about this guy.

Cat and Bones. You will love ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE even more than Halfway to the Grave. We again have so many funny scenes, great dialogue, and CHAPTER 32! I have read the famous CHAPTER 32 and OMG. I can't stop thinking about it. Cat and Bone's scenes are very intense and heart felt. We get to learn a bit more about Bone's past and what he was like, how he came upon that bar where he met Cat. Cat and Bones were made for each other and this book proves how much they care and need each other. Overall, this book was my favorite in the series and I will definitely be reading it again. 100+ STARS!!!

"And there is my payment the rubies in your cheeks. Are you properly scandalized by your wicked behavior? If you were Catholic, you'd singe the ears of the priest you confessed to. Do you remember making me swear to repeat all those naughty actions agian, no matter what you said this morning?" Now that he brought it up, I did recall saying that. Great Betrayed by my own immorality. "God, Bones...some of that was depraved." "I'll take that as a compliment." He closed the distance between us."I love you. Don't be ashamed of anything we did, even if your prudery is on life support."
