Waiting on Wednesday: Rift by Andrea Cremer

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine, that features future books I'm highly anticipating for this year .

Rift

by Andrea Cremer

Chronicling the rise of the Keepers, this is the stunning prequel to Andrea Cremer's internationally bestselling Nightshade trilogy!

Sixteen-year-old Ember Morrow is promised to a group called Conatus after one of their healers saves her mother's life. Once she arrives, Ember finds joy in wielding swords, learning magic, and fighting the encroaching darkness loose in the world. She also finds herself falling in love with her mentor, the dashing, brooding, and powerful Barrow Hess. When the knights realize Eira, one of their leaders, is dabbling in dark magic, Ember and Barrow must choose whether to follow Eira into the nether realm or to pledge their lives to destroying her and her kind.

With action, adventure, magic, and tantalizing sensuality, this book is as fast-paced and breathtaking as the Nightshade novels.

Released August 2012

Okay, I know I'm crazy to be wanting to read this right after the Bloodrose insanity, but I still love Andrea Cremer even if her characters drive me crazy and her wicked cliffhangers! I want to give Rift a try!

  6. I like the cover, but I don't think I'll ever set foot near this or any other Nightshade novel. They never really interested me and I have heard too many not-so-wonderful things. :( But I hope August comes quickly and that you enjoy it!

  22. I'll never read another Andrea Cremer book again after that horrible crap that she called a finale of the last trilogy. This books sounds much better, but she completely alienated me. Anyway, just stopping by to say hi! :)

  26. OKAY. I'm really slacking on Andrea Cremer: I haven't read the second and third books, and that's bad. I'm just scared of Ren withdrawal. BUT. This prequel series she's starting has definitely caught my interest, ESPECIALLY WITH THAT COVER. And I love reading about stories that took place in the past to explain what is going down right now in the present series.

    Have an amazing reading week!
