How did you come up with your blog name?
Okaiexz...this is really stupid, when I first decided to do a blog of course I need a name. I was stumped beyond all reason. WHAT THE HELL DO I CALL MY BLOG!!!??? I looked through a few hoping to come up wit something, no such luck. I began looking at adjectives or whatever and came up with "mystifying" and since I love PNR/UF books I thought how about "Mystifying Paranormal Reviews"? So I just left it that, but I really didn't think it through that much. I kinda want to change it b/c I think it is way too long, seriously. But they was really not that much thought involved. I wished to call in something shorter. Thinking of names is really hard I have no idea how people do this for there children LOL

Do you read only one book at a time, or do you have several going at once?
Okaiexz...so I do! YES I READ MORE THAN ONE BOOK AT A TIME!!! I can't help myself. I am freckin' excited about like 50 different books on my TBR shelf that I end up starting a bunch at the same time. Sometimes a book I am reading is going to slow that I just need to put it down and start something else, maybe I'll come back to it. hopefully. I read on the bus, it's my favorite reading spot where I read the most comfortable-est at (I know, I'm weird) so I will read a book on the bus and start another and read it at home. and Ta-da I end up getting 2 books done for the week.

What is your favorite romance hero-type? Stereotype wise. Do you like the strong silent type or the brute macho man?
I don't have a specific romance type, but I would have to say the loving and fun ones/bad boys. who like to have a great time. Say Adrian from Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy Series or Dorian from Richelle Mead's Dark Swan Series. I also like my men with a little bad boy attitude, dark and mysterious. XD

I am reading Clarity by Kim Harrington. I won this book in a giveaway and I am reading it for Story Siren's 2011 Debut Author Challenge. I didn't think I would like it that much, but I am actually really getting into this book. =D

"What book are you most looking forward to seeing published in 2011? Why are you anticipating that book?"
Aren't we all looking forward to a lot of books this year? There are many great books coming out that I am excited to get my hands on, but if I had to pick the book that I have been obsessing over in 2010, counting down the days and going crazy for, I would have to pick Shadowfever by Karen Marie Moning. I know this book just came out last week, but I had to pick it b/c I have never gone this crazy for a book's release before. Why? Cliffhanger at the end of last book and I have been anticiparing Shadowfever ever since. My second book choice would be This Side of the Grave, why? CAT AND BONES! DUH! =D

"Why do you read the genre that you do? What draws you to it?"
I have just always been drawn to the supernatural. I think anything supernatural just hot be it vampires, werewolves, faeries or whatnot. I love reading the paranormal because it is so different from anything else. I like the fact that we have lots of conflicts with some of the characters that may be human and their lover a supernatural being and things happen that you cannot even predict. I like to be surprised and shocked when reading a book and this world does that for me. I am just a fantasy addict and I get so lost in this world that I don't even want to come back to reality. I think the men are more sexy too =D

What book(s) have you discovered lately from someone's book blog?
I had recently came across like on everyones blog that I visited the Katherine "Kitty" Katt series by Gini Koch. I had just read the first one not too long ago and I loved it. I seriously don't think I would have picked it up. It took me a while and I am so happy to get recommendations from bloggers. =D

What book influenced you or changed your life? How did it influence/ change you?
That is a hard question. Umm...I don't know. After finally giving it a lot of thought and this question needs more thought because it was hard.I also NEED to mention Twilight! If it wasn't for Twilight I would not be reading. I am so happy to have discovered all of these great series and I would not have discovered all of these amazing series I have read and to just think that I would have NEVER read them if not for Twilight breaks my heart. Thank you Stephenie Meyer for creating Twilight and getting me to read.

Carmel is studying web design... What did you study in college, or are currently studying and did it lead to your current 9 to 5 or are you doing something totally different?
You What a concidence, me too. haha. I am currently going to school for a bachelor's degree in graphic design. I am going for the print side, which consists of posters, editorials, flyers, logos, illustrations and whatnot, but now I want to learn more about web design. I want to take more classes on it because I am really excited to learn about it, but hopefully one day. I love graphic design and I find myself getting better at it recently. I always don't like my work, I think I am too hard on myself...haha. I plan to stick with graphic design and hopefully land a job next year sometime. =D

What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters?
There Okaiexz...a hard question this week. I think both, but if I had to pick one I would have to say the characters. We follower the characters story and I have to like the characters to continue the book. Yes. The plot is important, but it is not the deciding factor for me, it is the characters, the characters bring life out into the book you are reading. In some books I have just dropped the book because I didn't like the characters, so characters are very key to a good book.

Do you have an under-noticed author that you think we should all know about?
You know that is a hard question. I usually look on goodreads a lot under how many people have read the books I am crazy about and I think Craolyn Crane's Disillusionist Trilogy needs more notice and also Dianne Sylvan's Queen of Shadow book needs more attention. Both came out just recently of course and sometimes we're weary about reading books in a series in less some more are out because we would like to see what happens next right away. But I think more people need to check out these books especially Queen of Shadows by Dianne Sylvan. But I bet there are tons of those authors that we don't know about that we should check out, it's up to out book buddies to help us out. =D

What is the thing you like most about reading book blogs? Is it the reviews, authors guest posts, articles, giveaways, or something else entirely?
There really is quite a few things. Sometimes it depends on the blogger too. I love some bloggers that make their blog so beautiful with design whether they do it themselves or have a designer design it for them. It is just when you go on their blog you enjoy being on there and love looking at the pretty designs they have on their blog and it just makes you want to stay on their blog and visit more and more. I also love giveaways, but come on, who doesn't? Giveaways are fun for everyone. I have been in the blog world for about a month now and OMG I won three giveaways so far! Yah!

I also love the features that bloggers have on their blog. Like we have the meme which are fun and a great way for bloggers to connect with others, but some bloggers have their own features, like on Book Lovers Inc. they have their own unique features, Bookish Rants and Raves, and The Good, The Bad, and The Are You Kidding Me?, and I really love these. Every blog is different and they all have different things on their blog.

What do you do besides reading/reviewing as a hobby?
Oh. That's a hard one. I don't do much except reading and blogging. haha. Let's see. I am a graphic designer and I really like making illustrations in my free time. It is benefcial to the field I am going into and it is really fun. I also love japanese animation so I am really into anime and manga. But I am quite busy these days with my part-time job + school +reading/blogging, so I don't have a lot of free time. I spend most of my time on my labtop chatting on facebook.

What very popular and hyped book in the blogosphere did you not enjoy and how did you feel about posting your review?
That is a hard question for me. I have books that are quite popular where I did not like them but I haven't posted a full review for them yet for I am just starting out and I have only been blogging for about 1 month now, but I do need to get around to them. I have rated only a few book with 1 star and they were all books that I really wanted to like but just couldn't get into them. We all have different tastes in books, so not every book is for us. I would say the most popular book that I did not really like all that well was Wings by Aprilynne Pike, which a lot of people loved so I assumed I would have liked also but that was not the case proving that every book is not for you.

For Wings by Aprilynne Pike I didn't really like the concept of how the faeries were, I found it weird and more than halfway through I thought that maybe this is not in my age range I thought someone more younger would enjoy it more than me, but I like that she had a different take on faeries. I like the dark aspect of faeries that I read about a bit more. But whenever I read a book and I don't like I so very much wish that I could of got into and enjoyed it.

What is your favorite book cover?
Very hard question! There are tons of bookcovers that I love. But I tend to love the young adult covers a lot. I love the Vampire Academy Covers, as well, as the hush hush and fallen book cover. Oh, and you can't forget NightShade by Andrea Cremer. I am a big fan of the Demonica Series Covers. Beautiful. And the last few Chicagoland Vampire Covers. You see I'll end up listing hundreds..haha. I think nowadays that bookcovers are really getting better and are looking amazing!
